THE GREED FOR MONEY: What Is Going On Here?

THE GREED FOR MONEY: What Is Going On Here?

It is indeed shocking that, despite consistently high international crude oil prices, Nigeria’s income from crude oil has been declining sharply, affecting state finances, foreign reserves and the naira against other currencies. In its bid to unravel the sharp practices in the NNPC, all the committees set up to investigate it has always come up with indicting verdicts but nothing had been done and no one has been brought to book.

Even with all the cries by the CBN governor that the NNPC is saying something different on paper and acting in a different manner financially with the apex bank, yet the Presidency is acting like it's business as usual.

No wonder APC national leader, Bola Tinubu described NNPC as President Jonathan's ATM. Really sad!

I bet you never imagined a whole Davido, Omo Baba Olowo, looking like a farmer in the field doing manual labor.
Check out the video for his new single, Aye, where he plays exactly that role. A role that see him fall in love with a lady that is above his status in everything. The concept and execution is great.
The video was directed by Clarence Peters who has come under some heat for stealing concepts from international videos. Let’s hope this is not one of them. Either way, Check on it. Davido Aye!

Catholic Archbishop Of Lagos Charges Political Office Holders On Improvement Of Nigerians’ Living Standard

Archbishop-A.-Adewale-Martins

The Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, on Tuesday appealed topublic office holders to demonstrate their commitment towards improving the living standard of the electorate.
Martins told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the utterances of many politicians were not geared towards achieving good governance, rather, overheating the polity.

“I think the heat that is there in the polity is affecting the quality of governance at this time.

“Those who have the charge of government now at different level need to not just be thinking about 2015 general elections but think about the present-day Nigeria and Nigerians.

“Think of how life is going to be made bearable, rather than creating the sort of tension that we are feeling at this point in time”.

He decried the undue attention being paid to the 2015 general elections, saying political leaders were losing focus on the needs of the majority of Nigerians. (NAN)

Why we kidnapped our grandma- Madueke brothers

LAST year December, Madam Adafor Madueke, an 89 year-old grandmother, was full of life as she was expecting her children and grand children residing outside her Amaeku village, Adazi Ani in Anaocha local government area of Anambra State, to return for Christmas celebrations.
The period usually provided her the opportunity to meet her loved ones and spend quality time with them.
However, unknown to Madam Madueke, two of her grandsons, Kingsley Chukwuebuka Madueke, 24, and Matthew Edozie Madueke, 22, were planning evil against her.
The two, who are undergraduates, had perfected plans with two other students, Chukwunonso Onuzulike, 23, from Enugu State and Gabriel Nnaji, 25, also from Enugu State, to abduct the Octogenarian for the purpose of extorting money from their uncle who had been responsible for their education over the years...

‘Flappy Bird’ Creator Pulled Game Down Because It Was Too ‘Addictive’

n-FLAPPY-BIRD-ADDICTIVE-large570
As of Sunday, “Flappy Bird” is dead and gone, and we finally have a full explanation as to why. According to its creator, it was just too addictive.

“Flappy Bird was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed,” Dong Nguyen, the notoriously difficult-to-get-ahold-of game developer, told Forbes in an interview. “But it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it’s best to take down Flappy Bird. It’s gone forever.”

Read Forbes’ entire interview with Nguyen here.

“My life has not been as comfortable as I was before,” Nguyen said. He also commented that he has hadtrouble sleeping. That was the sentiment he shared with his Twitter followers over the weekend while explaining his decision to ax the game.

In an earlier interview, Nguyen had attributed the rise of “Flappy Bird” to the top of Apple and Google’s app stores in January to “luck,” saying that the game took just two or three days of coding to create.

Bullying the South-South minorities

WHILE speaking recently on a current affairs programme on Liberty Radio, Kaduna, General Muhammadu Buhari boasted that the APC (All Progressives Congress) will wipe out the insecurity bedeviling Nigeria. The General conveniently forgot to tell us how he intends to do this. Since even the Americans with their military might and sophisticated intelligence outfits have not succeeded in wiping out Al Qaeda in over 25 years, one may well wonder how Buhari proposes to work his magic and wipe out the Boko Haram in Nigeria within four years.

Unless, of course, Buhari is inadvertently acknowledging what some have long suspected: that the escalation of the Boko Haram insurgency is essentially political; the outcome of the loss ofpolitical power by the Muslim North to the Christian South. Since the APC is now primarily an instrument for transferring power back to the North, then Buhari can be confident that the tide of Boko Haram terrorism up North against Christians will abate when and if a Muslim Northerner becomes president of Nigeria in 2015.
Biometric Capture Will Start This Week In Banks? "Says Lamido"

Biometric Capture Will Start This Week In Banks? "Says Lamido"

Nigeria's Bankers Committee rose from its 315th meeting and announced that the biometric registration of bank customers would commence on Friday this week. Consequently, Deposit Money Banks will commence the full capture of their customers’ details, including their fingerprints.
“Nigeria runs on cash; there is no identity. We don’t know who is who. We are now going into identity confirmation. We can now create a credit system that will power our economy.
“Banks don’t want to lend because of identity issue. We want to move Nigeria from cash system to credit system that has identity.”

These are the words of the Director, Corporate Communications Department of the CBN, Mr. Ugochukwu Okoroafor, who said the biometric system, when fully operational, would improve credit in the economy and boost Nigeria's macro-economy.
The Group Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, Mr. Herbert Wigwe, briefed journalists at the end of the bi-monthly meeting held in Lagos.
He said: "The banking industry, under the auspices of the Bankers’ Committee, has been working to improve the Know Your Customer requirement. The idea is to fight fraud, money laundering and ensure a better customer protection. The initiative will be launched this Friday, February 14."
